A modular – or dividable – bed is a bed that is build in modules. All our modular beds take their starting point in a junior bed. From here, it is possible to add a module either below or on top of the junior bed, turning it into a different bed type. Let’s say you want a half high bed, then a half high module is placed below the junior bed. Or let’s say you want a house bed, then a house bed module is placed on top of the junior bed. If you, at a later time, wish to return to a junior bed, you can simply remove the module.

Lifetime warranty is an extra guarantee on all products in the ECO Luxury bed collection and the STOREY shelf system. It is a warranty that goes beyond the regular warranty. The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing errors. The warranty presupposes that the product has been assembled correctly according to the assembly instruction and that all screws and similar have been tightened regularly. The lifetime warranty does not cover faults caused by misuse or regular wear, changes in the wooden structure or surfaces including knots visible through the lacquer.

You can register your lifetime warranty on this page. You must register your ECO Luxury bed or STOREY product no later than 3 months after purchase. A valid receipt in .pdf or .jpg is needed to complete the registration.

Beds

Yes – you are free to choose in which side, you wish to place your ladder/slide/bed rail.

The max load of your bed depends on what bed collection it belongs to.

  • If your bed is from the ECO Comfort collection, the max load is 60kg
  • If your bed is from the ECO Dream collection, the max load is 100kg
  • If your bed is from the ECO Luxury collection, the max load is 100kg

This is the bed rail that fits the ECO Comfort junior- or house bed. This is the only bed rail that fits ECO Comfort beds. Our bed rails are adjusted to the bed sides of the bed, why bed rails from other collections do not fit ECO Comfort beds.

For your ECO Dream bed, you can get a 3/4 bed rail that is screwed to the bed & a detachable bed rail. You can use these two bed rails for ECO Dream junior beds, canopy beds, house beds and for the bottom bunk in a bunk bed.

If you have a half high bed and wish to add a slide, you will need this bed rail, which fits the space between ladder and slide.

For ECO Luxury beds, you can get a 3/4 bed rail that is screwed to the bed. This bed rail can be used for junior beds, half high beds, mid high beds, high beds, and bunk beds.

You can also get a 1/2 bed rail that is screwed to either the side or the center of the bed. This rail can be used for junior beds, half high beds with slide and the bottom bunk of a bunk bed.

There is also a detachable bed rail that fits ECO Luxury beds. This bed rail can be used for junior beds and the bottom bunk of bunk beds.

Finally, there is a full-width safety rail, which is used for closing off an entire side of the bed. If you for example divide a ECO Luxury bunk bed into two separate junior beds, you can use this full-width bed rail for closing off the backside of the bottom bunk, so you get a backrest for the bed.

Hoppekids offers extra wide junior beds in the size 120x200cm in our ECO Luxury collection. In the 120x200cm size, you can find junior beds, high beds, and bunk beds. You can find the wide junior beds under ECO Luxury.

If a bed is described as being non-dividable, it means the bed cannot be build into another type of bed.

A dividable bed is build in modules. Dividable beds can (using modules) be changed into other types of beds - e.g. from a junior bed to a half high bed.

At Hoppekids, you can get children's beds in the sizes 70x160cm, 70x190cm, 90x200cm & 120x200cm. The availability of a size depends on the type of bed or the bed collection.

How can I fix a squeaky bed?

A squeaky bed can be disturbing for both your own and your child’s sleep, if the bed is squeaking as the child is turning over, or as you sneak out of bed after reading bedtime stories. Being a parent, you have probably experienced periods of constant sleep deficiency and all the discomforts that brings along.

A good night’s sleep is important for you and for your child, and there are different actions to take to reduce or remove the noise from a squeaky bed. On this page, we have gathered information and advice on what you can do to fix a squeaky bed.

Why is my bed squeaking?

The ecolabelled beds from Hoppekids are made of solid wood. This ensures that we can produce natural and healthy furniture that's good for the environment and your indoor climate. The wood we use comes from FSC-certified forestry, which makes sure that no more wood is cut down than what is re-planted.

Wood is a living material that is affected by changes in temperature and humidity. So, depending on the temperature and humidity of the room in which the bed is placed, the bed can budge a bit. This movement can cause the bed to make some squeaky sounds.

Tips for fixing a squeaky bed

  1. Check and tighten all screws. Check all screws and make sure they are used properly according to the assembly instruction. Wood can – as mentioned – budge a bit due to temperature and humidity, and so it might be necessary to tighten the screws after a while.

  2. Check the slats. The slats must be screwed to the bed, without touching the bed frame. This goes for both the sides and ends of the bed. So, make sure there is space between each slat and the bed frame.

  3. Place felt under the slats. By placing pieces of felt where the wood adjoins, the friction between the pieces of wood – and thereby the squeaking – will be reduced or cease. For example under the slats, so they can't move against the frame.

It is important for the stability of the bed that the slats sit firmly – and are screwed tightly. Always make sure there is a bit of room between the slats and the bed frame. It makes a big difference that the screws are used properly, so the bed is steady.

Mattresses

The best mattress for at child really depends on the child. Children release a lot of moisture through their breath and skin when they sleep. It's therefore a good idea to choose a mattress made of breathable material and avoid mattresses with plastic covers.

For our ECO Dream and ECO Comfort bed collections, we recommend a mattress height of 9 cm.

For our ECO Luxury and DELUXE bed collections, we recommend a mattress height of 12 cm.

At Hoppekids, you can get mattresses in different material, so you can find one that fits your child's bed.

Flax mattress

  • Our flax mattress for baby beds and playpen has a core of foam and a top layer of flax felt. Flax is a 100% natural material that isolates and keeps the mattress from sagging. Flax is very breathable and helps maintain a good, comfortable temperature throughout the night.

Foam mattress

  • The Hoppekids conventional foam mattress is a nice mattress that provides good support and a comfortable night's sleep.

Cold foam mattress

  • Hoppekids cold foam mattresses are modern comfort mattresses. Coldfoam is characterised by having a long lifetime, better load capacity, and optimal sleeping comfort via comfort zones in the mattress. The mattress has good breathability and helps maintain a comfortable temperature throughout the night.
  • Coldfoam is naturally flame retardant and has a long lifetime.

Eco-labelled Waterlily® mattress

  • Our eco-labelled and hypoallergenic ECO Dream and ECO Luxury mattresses are made of Waterlily® foam, which provides a soft surface and a firm core, ensuring your child maximum comfort and a good night's sleep.
  • Waterlily® foam is a more environmentally friendly, high-quality product that provides a springy, soft and comfortable comfort that is even better than coldfoam. The structure allows air to easily move through the material, ensuring that no heat or moisture builds up on the surface.
  • Waterlily is a durable material that takes safety, health and environmental aspects into account throughout the entire life of the product. Waterlily retains its shape and thereby provides lasting comfort properties. The mattress core is flame retardant without the use of additives.

At Hoppekids, we have a wide range of mattress sizes to suit every bed - whether you're looking for a baby mattress or a junior mattress.

  1. A good sleeping environment means good ventilation - and that goes for your mattress too. Bedspreads and duvets prevent moisture from evaporating from the mattress. Don't put bedspreads and duvets on top of your mattress right away. Give the mattress some air so that sweat can evaporate.

  2. Rotate the mattress regularly to prevent it from compressing in places, where it is often under pressure. Rotate it once every quarter - e.g. head/foot.

  3. Air under the mattress keeps it ventilated. A slatted bed base lets air in, unlike solid wood or masonite bases, which can eventually cause moisture damage.

  4. If your new mattress is roll-packed, it is recommended to let the mattress rest for 48 hours before using it.

We recommend washing cotton covers for our foam, cold foam and linen mattresses at 30 degrees. Do not iron or tumble dry.

The cover of our ECO Dream and ECO Luxury mattresses can be washed at 60 degrees. After washing, the cover should be stretched while wet. Do not iron or tumble dry
