What size bed should I choose?

You may have already figured out what type of bed your child should sleep in, but are you still unsure about what size bed would fit best in your home? Here are some considerations you should make:

  • How big is the child who will be using the bed?
  • How big is the room where the bed will be?

Whether you should choose a 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, or 120x200 cm bed depends on the child who will be sleeping in it. It is recommended that the bed is 20 cm longer than the child who will be sleeping in it. Additionally, it is said that the bigger the bed you choose, the longer your child can use it. However, you should make sure that your child feels comfortable sleeping in such a big bed.

The size 70x160 cm is good for the smaller child. It can be reassuring to sleep in a bed that is not much bigger than oneself. It is a popular size that many choose to use between the crib and the big bed.

The sizes 90x200 cm & 120x200 cm are good for the slightly bigger child or for children who are comfortable with having plenty of space around them when they sleep. Many choose the bigger size because there is plenty of room to grow and therefore the bed can be used for a longer time.

When we talk about the sizes 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, and 120x200 cm, it is also important to remember that these sizes refer to mattress sizes and not the measurements of the bed itself. The exact measurements can be found under each bed. The thickness of the bed legs and edges depends on the bed series you choose. The ECO Luxury series has the thickest posts, followed by the ECO Dream, and finally the ECO Comfort with the least thickness.

Description

Complete angle combination consisting of two beds from the ECO Luxury series from Hoppekids. One bed is a loft bed, which creates extra floor space in the room. The other is a junior bed, which can be used as both a sleeping space and a daybed. Both beds have the size 90x200 cm. Under the junior bed, there is plenty of storage space, while under the loft bed, a tabletop can be mounted, creating a cozy workspace.

The combination can be used as an angle combination or as two separate beds.

The loft bed is a good solution for older children because it can utilize the vertical space and thus create more floor space for play, storage, or workspace. The junior bed is perfect for younger siblings, as a guest bed or daybed.

The space under the bed can help create a "room within a room," which you can decorate with cozy items such as bean bags, pillows, fairy lights, and other good things. You can also purchase a tabletop and set up a small workspace.

The beds are two individual beds and can therefore be used independently of each other. This gives you the opportunity for flexible arrangement.

All ladders from the ECO Luxury series have grooves and deep steps. This provides better foothold when climbing the ladder. It is also possible to purchase a handle if there is a need for a little extra safety and security.

The beds are Swan-labeled
The beds, like the rest of the ECO Luxury series, are Swan-labeled.
The Swan label is your guarantee that the product complies with all EU standards for children's furniture and has been tested accordingly. At the same time, the greatest possible consideration is given to the environment, both in the procurement of raw materials, during production itself, throughout the product's life, and when the product is to be disposed of.

The large size 90x200 cm provides plenty of room to grow and the child can use the bed until they are ready for a teenage room. The size also allows a parent to lie in the bed, for example, if a bedtime story needs to be read. The loft bed can easily be transformed into a junior bed or one of the other beds in the ECO Luxury series, if a new module is purchased.

The ladder can be mounted on either the right or left side of the bed.

Own factory and sewing room

Hoppekids has its own factory, which means that we can control our products and the materials we use ourselves. This means, among other things, that all the wood we use is carefully selected according to a number of criteria regarding quality, irregularities and - of course - that it comes from sustainable forestry.

To minimize waste, we use computers to calculate how the wood should be cut in the best possible way. This means that we have very little waste – and we also use all wood waste to produce energy for production. We have our own sewing room, where our skilled seamstresses create the fine textiles from our worlds. The applications on curtains and other textiles are sewn by hand. We do this because it provides the best quality. At the same time, it is also more fun to touch for a curious child who is in the process of developing their senses.

Compact shipping

All furniture that is shipped is "self-assembly." The furniture is packed in such a way that we ensure as little air as possible in the package, while also making sure that it arrives intact and undamaged. This is much more environmentally friendly, because we avoid transporting unnecessary air.
