What size bed should I choose?

You may have already figured out what type of bed your child should sleep in, but are you still unsure about what size bed would fit best in your home? Here are some considerations you should make:

  • How big is the child who will be using the bed?
  • How big is the room where the bed will be?

Whether you should choose a 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, or 120x200 cm bed depends on the child who will be sleeping in it. It is recommended that the bed is 20 cm longer than the child who will be sleeping in it. Additionally, it is said that the bigger the bed you choose, the longer your child can use it. However, you should make sure that your child feels comfortable sleeping in such a big bed.

The size 70x160 cm is good for the smaller child. It can be reassuring to sleep in a bed that is not much bigger than oneself. It is a popular size that many choose to use between the crib and the big bed.

The sizes 90x200 cm & 120x200 cm are good for the slightly bigger child or for children who are comfortable with having plenty of space around them when they sleep. Many choose the bigger size because there is plenty of room to grow and therefore the bed can be used for a longer time.

When we talk about the sizes 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, and 120x200 cm, it is also important to remember that these sizes refer to mattress sizes and not the measurements of the bed itself. The exact measurements can be found under each bed. The thickness of the bed legs and edges depends on the bed series you choose. The ECO Luxury series has the thickest posts, followed by the ECO Dream, and finally the ECO Comfort with the least thickness.

Description

Complete ECO Dream bunk bed in size 90x200 cm from Hoppekids. The bunk bed provides two sleeping places without using more floor space. At the same time, there is ample opportunity for storage or a pull-out bed under the bottom bed.

The bunk bed is perfect for shared rooms or if your child often has overnight guests. The bottom bunk can be used as a playhouse or daybed. Hang a curtain in front of the bottom bed and you have the perfect cave for reading aloud. You can also decorate with pillows, blankets, fairy lights, and other cozy items.

The top bed is perfect for a child who loves to climb. The climb up the ladder makes going to bed fun and also trains motor skills and coordination. The bed is equipped with bed rails all around, creating a safe and cozy atmosphere in the bed. The bottom bed does not have bed rails, but you can purchase both a fixed bed rail for the back of the bed and a bed rail for the front that can be easily removed or attached.

The bed is Swan-labeled. The Swan label is your guarantee that the product complies with all EU standards for children's furniture and has been tested accordingly. At the same time, the greatest possible consideration is given to the environment, both in the procurement of raw materials, during production, throughout the life of the product, and when the product is to be disposed of. The surface is treated with water-based lacquer free of unnecessary chemicals and harmful substances.

The large size 90x200 cm provides plenty of room to grow, and the child can use the bed until they are ready for a teenage room. The size also allows a parent to lie in the bed, for example, when reading bedtime stories. Both bunks are tested for a maximum load of 100 kg. A pull-out bed can be purchased to create an extra sleeping place or drawers can be added under the bed for additional storage.

The ladder can be mounted on either the right or left side of the bed.

The bunk bed is divisible. This means that you can convert it into a junior bed if you no longer want a bunk bed.

Hoppekids

Own factory and sewing room

Hoppekids has its own factory, which means that we can control our products and the materials we use ourselves. This means, among other things, that all the wood we use is carefully selected according to a number of criteria regarding quality, irregularities and - of course - that it comes from sustainable forestry.

To minimize waste, we use computers to calculate how the wood should be cut in the best possible way. This means that we have very little waste – and we also use all wood waste to produce energy for production. We have our own sewing room, where our skilled seamstresses create the fine textiles from our worlds. The applications on curtains and other textiles are sewn by hand. We do this because it provides the best quality. At the same time, it is also more fun to touch for a curious child who is in the process of developing their senses.

Compact shipping

All furniture that is shipped is "self-assembly." The furniture is packed in such a way that we ensure as little air as possible in the package, while also making sure that it arrives intact and undamaged. This is much more environmentally friendly, because we avoid transporting unnecessary air.
