What size bed should I choose?

You may have already figured out what type of bed your child should sleep in, but are you still unsure about what size bed will fit best in your home? Here are some considerations you should make:

How big is the child who will be using the bed?
How big is the room where the bed will be?

Whether you should choose a 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, or 120x200 cm bed depends on the child who will be sleeping in it. It is recommended that the bed is 20 cm longer than the child who will be sleeping in it. Additionally, it is said that the larger the bed you choose, the longer your child can use it. However, you should make sure that your child feels comfortable sleeping in such a large bed if they are transitioning from their crib.

It is difficult to determine a specific age for when children should switch to a toddler bed. Many children will be ready for a toddler bed around 2.5-3 years old, but it is individual when your child is ready.

The size 70x160 cm is good for smaller children. It can be reassuring to sleep in a bed that is not much bigger than oneself and resembles the crib they have previously slept in. This size is very popular to use as a transitional bed before moving to a larger bed.

The sizes 90x200 cm & 120x200 cm are good for slightly larger children or for children who are comfortable with having plenty of space around them when they sleep. Many choose the larger size because there is plenty of room to grow and therefore the bed can be used for a longer time. A typical age for this size would be around 6-10 years old.

When we talk about the sizes 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, and 120x200 cm, it is also important to remember that these sizes refer to mattress sizes and not the measurements of the bed itself. The exact measurements can be found under each bed. The thickness of the bed legs and edges depends on the bed series you choose. The ECO Luxury & DELUXE series have the thickest posts, followed by the ECO Dream, and finally the ECO Comfort with the least thickness.

This fine NOAH DELUXE Kids bed with 1 medium and 1 high headboard from Hoppekids is a nice Kids bed. The headboards with fine details give the bed a classic expression with a modern twist. Combine the bed with nice accessories to create the perfect Kids bed for the children's room.

The DELUXE bed from Hoppekids is the classic Kids bed with a modern twist. Attention has been paid to the details – both in the bed and the accessories. It brings comfort and quality to the top. All DELUXE beds come in size 90x200 cm.
The headboards have cutouts, which gives a raw expression to the bed.

NOAH headboards come in two different heights: medium – 60 cm and high 86 cm.

The accessories for DELUXE are carefully selected and have a special focus on optimizing the use of space under the bed. For example, a genius pull-out bed can be added, which has an extra and large, spacious storage drawers.

A removable Bed rail can also be added. This means that DELUXE can be used as the first bed after the crib. The bed rail can either be removed during the day or permanently attached in a discreet way, which does not leave visible marks on the bed.

❔ Which mattress should I choose?

The bed is only as good as the mattress you choose to buy for it. Therefore, choosing a mattress is something one should prioritize.

How high should the mattress be?
Hoppekids recommends the following mattress heights:

For "ECO Dream" & "ECO Comfort": 9 cm
For "ECO Luxury" and "DELUXE":: 12 cm

It is possible to use a different mattress height - however, one should be aware that it should not be too high. According to EU safety regulations, there should be a minimum of 16 cm from the mattress to the side of the bed.

Delivery of beds always takes place at the home address with a courier. When you order your bed, a Track & Trace number will always be included so you can track your order. Our delivery partners will always ensure to contact you before delivery to make sure you are present to receive the item.

What is the exact delivery date and time?

Due to the long and complicated journey of the beds from the factory to the final address, it can be difficult to estimate an exact date and delivery time. Deliveries usually take 5 - 7 working days, except for any public holidays. Our logistics partner will always try to contact you by phone to confirm that you are present to receive your item.

Damage to goods during transport

If the goods have been damaged during transport, our recommendation is to always accept the goods regardless. Based on the extent of the damage, with your help, we will identify which parts have been damaged and send replacement parts at no extra cost.
