What size bed should I choose?

You may have already figured out what type of bed your child should sleep in, but are you still unsure about what size bed will fit best in your home? Here are some considerations you should make:

  • How big is the child who will be using the bed?
  • How big is the room where the bed will be?

Whether you should choose a 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, or 120x200 cm bed depends on the child who will be sleeping in it. It is recommended that the bed is 20 cm longer than the child who will be sleeping in it. It is also said that the bigger the bed you choose, the longer your child can use it. However, you should make sure that your child feels comfortable sleeping in such a big bed.

The size 70x160 cm is good for the smaller child. It can be reassuring to sleep in a bed that is not much bigger than oneself. It is a popular size that many choose to use between the crib and the big bed.

The sizes 90x200 cm & 120x200 cm are good for the slightly bigger child or for children who are comfortable with having plenty of space around them when they sleep. Many choose the larger size because there is plenty of room to grow and therefore the bed can be used for a longer time.

When we talk about the sizes 70x160 cm, 90x200 cm, and 120x200 cm, it is also important to remember that these sizes refer to mattress sizes and not the measurements of the bed itself. The exact measurements can be found under each bed. The thickness of the bed legs and edges depends on the bed series you choose. The ECO Luxury series can easily be adapted to the child's needs and room. It can be expanded with modules, allowing it to be converted into a Bed with slide, Bunk bed, or high Bunk bed. It is Nordic Swan Ecolabel, ensuring an environmentally friendly product that is free from harmful chemicals and complies with EU standards for children's furniture.

Hoppekids

Own factory and sewing workshop

Hoppekids has its own factory. This enables us to monitor our products and the materials we use ourselves.

The wood is selected according to specific requirements concerning, among other things, quality and suitability. The origin of the wood and any certifications are documented in accordance with the requirements that apply to each product range.

We use computer-based planning to calculate how the wood can be cut so that the material is used efficiently. This helps us reduce the amount of wood residue from production. The wood residue is used as an energy source at the factory.

At the factory, we also have our own sewing workshop. Here, our seamstresses produce textiles for Hoppekids’ various collections and themes. The appliqués on curtains and other selected textiles are sewn on by hand. This provides a beautiful finish and creates different textures that the child can see and feel.

Compact shipping

Our furniture is delivered unassembled and packed in compact packages. The packaging is designed to protect the furniture during transport while limiting the amount of empty space in the package.

The compact packages make better use of space during transport. At the same time, our packing methods help keep storage and shipping costs down. This enables us to offer low-cost or free delivery on selected orders.
