What size bed should I choose?

You may have already figured out what type of bed your child should sleep in, but are you still unsure about what size bed will fit best in your home? Here are some considerations you should make:

How big is the child who will be using the bed?
How big is the room where the bed will be?

Whether you should choose a 70x160 cm bed or a 90x200 cm bed depends on the child who will be sleeping in the bed. It is recommended that the bed is 20 cm longer than the child who will be sleeping in it. It is also said that the bigger the bed you choose, the longer your child can use it. However, you should make sure that your child feels comfortable sleeping in such a big bed.

The size 70x160 cm is good for the smaller child. It can be reassuring to sleep in a bed that is not much bigger than oneself. It is a popular size that many choose to use between the crib and the big bed.

The size 90x200 cm is good for the slightly bigger child or for children who are comfortable with having plenty of space around them when they sleep. Many choose the larger size because there is plenty of room to grow and therefore the bed can be used for a longer time.

Fairy-tale canopy bed from Hoppekids. The bed frame creates a cozy and cave-like atmosphere, together with any textiles and decorations, without closing off the rest of the room.

Decorate the bed with textiles, fairy lights, and cozy pillows. Hang some pictures "inside" the bed frame and create a cozy room-within-a-room effect.

There is plenty of storage space under the bed. The beautiful drawers from Hoppekids fit perfectly under the bed and provide space for toys or bedding. NOTE! If you choose the canopy bed with stairs, the stairs will block one of the drawers.

The bed is Swan-labeled. The Swan label is your guarantee that the product complies with all EU standards for children's furniture and has been tested accordingly. At the same time, the greatest possible consideration is given to the environment, both in the procurement of raw materials, during production itself, throughout the product's life, and when the product needs to be disposed of. The surface is treated with water-based lacquer free of unnecessary chemicals and harmful substances.

The canopy bed is divisible. This means that you can convert it into a junior bed if you no longer want a canopy bed.

❔ What mattress should I choose?

The bed is only as good as the mattress you choose to buy for it. Therefore, the choice of mattress is something that should be prioritized.

Hoppekids recommends the "ECO" mattresses:

Recommended for the "ECO Dream" series. ECO Certified mattress (Swan-labeled) with high-quality Waterlily® foam. Includes a mattress cover consisting of soft bamboo fibers on the outside with quilted thermould that removes moisture and heat from the body.

How high should the mattress be?
Hoppekids recommends the following mattress heights:

For "ECO Dream" & "ECO Comfort": 9 cm
For "ECO Luxury":: 12 cm

It is possible to use a different mattress height - however, one should be aware that it does not become too high. According to EU safety instructions, there should be a minimum of 16 cm from the mattress to the bed side.

The canopy bed is divisible. This means that you can convert it into a junior bed if you no longer want a canopy bed.

Delivery of beds always takes place to the home address with a courier. When you order your bed, there will always be a Track & Trace number included where you can track your order. Due to the beds' long and complicated journey from the factory to the final address, it can be difficult to estimate an exact date and delivery time. Deliveries usually take 5 - 7 working days, except for any public holidays. Our logistics partner will always try to contact you by phone to confirm that you are present to receive your item.

Damages to goods during transport
